Privacy Policy
Mailr ("Mailr", "we", "us") is a free email newsletter operated by an individual based in India. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what your rights are. We keep it short because our data practices are simple.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you subscribe through the form on our website.
- Basic email engagement data (such as whether an email was opened or a link was clicked), collected automatically by our email provider when you interact with our newsletters.
We do not ask for your name, phone number, payment details, or any other personal information to subscribe.
How we use it
We use your email address only to send you the Mailr newsletter (currently on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) and occasional messages directly related to the newsletter. We use engagement data to understand which stories resonate and to improve future editions.
We do not use your data for any purpose unrelated to operating the newsletter.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
Your email address is stored and processed by Kit (ConvertKit), our email service provider, solely so we can deliver the newsletter. Kit processes this data on our behalf and is subject to its own privacy terms. Apart from Kit, we do not share your data with any third parties, except where required by law.
Where your data is stored
Your data is held within Kit's systems, which may store and process data on servers located outside India. By subscribing, you understand that your email address may be processed in this way for the purpose of delivering the newsletter.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your address is removed from active sending, and you may request full deletion at any time (see below).
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of every email. This stops all future newsletters.
- Request access or deletion of your personal data by emailing us at hello@mailr.tech. We will respond within a reasonable period.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws (including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act). To exercise any of these, contact us at the email above.
Children
Mailr is intended for working professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes may also be noted in the newsletter.
